Insights on the percentage calculation

Calculating of percentage is definitely one of the more calculations used daily throughout the world. Businessmen, entrepreneurs, students, housewives and ordinary punters use this formula to solve their problems. Many use the percentage but few, however, know how to calculate the percentage.

Without pause into boring details and complex arguments you should know that the basis of the percentage calculation there is a mathematical formula that is technically referred to as “equation of first instance”. An equation of first instance is to resolve an unknown (usually X) known data and firm values. Basically to make a percentage calculator we must not do is solve an equation of degree 1.

That in this way to calculate percentage complex and reserved for super brains:-)) but in reality, as we will see later calculate percentage is much simpler than it may seem.

Anyway there are always calculating machines or automatic calculation tools online, like those present in our website, allowing us to make any percentage without any difficulty, but in this case we will calculate the percentage. Nowadays we are very lazy and we use the even for simple subtraction. Anyway let’s see more closely how do just about through some examples:

Let us assume to know two values (numbers) es. 120 and 30. We want to know what is the relationship between these two quantities. That is, we wonder, for instance, that percentage is 30 to 120? To resolve this problem we have to calculate the following equation:

30:120 = X:100

from which it follows that

30 multiplied by 100 equals 120 multiplied X

So what

X equals 3,000 divided 120 namely 25%

In other words 25% of 120 is 30. Here is our answer. Doing similar examples varying the two initial numbers but always applying this simple formula, we will be able to calculate any percentage.

Let us assume to know only one value (s) eg. 160 and a precise percentage es. 20% we wonder what the 20% to 160. In this case the calculation is much simpler. Just proceed like this:

160 multiplied 20 and what share it always to 100 i.e. 100 divided 3,200 which is equal to 32.

Percentage Calculator of  the 20% of 160 does is 32. Also in this case by changing the first two data but always using this system you will be able to calculate any percentage. Remember to browse our website to find out how to calculate the percentage applied to other common situation such as for example the calculation of percentage discount or surcharge, the calculation of the percentage of outsourcing Vat, calculating the percentage between two numbers, the increase and decrease in percentage and many other cases.
